Getting Inspired!
Here we go again with another exchange post! lol The topic on the original challenge was "You're favorite color" which would be a very short and pointless blog post. So, I commissioned my partner in crime to alter the challenge and re issue it (thanks, Amanda)! So the new challenge is...5 colors that inspire me and why. So...let's begin!
To be honest, I never really thought of colors as inspirational.I mean, I like colors and all, they just don't generally inspire me. But then I thought about it and realized...I may be wrong...
Blue inspires me. I think blue is on this list because it's my favorite, but it relaxes me and makes me happy. It, like so many things we love, open us up to be ourselves, truthfully and authentically. And, when that happens, creativity also flows a little more freely.
Purple comes next because it, too is one of my favorites. It takes me back to my childhood and helps to bring out the more feminine side of me, a side I had tried to deny for a long time...not that it's a strong side, but it does exist.
Black also occupies this list because blackness is filled of the unknown and, while that can be scary, it also opens up a world of possibilities. It allows you imagine all the great and wonderful or dark and horrifying things that lives in the blackness.
White (I can't make the text white or you won't be able to read it) because it's a blank slate. What you dream can be! You get to set the perpetrators, draw the lines, write the words and watch it come together. You get to make it go from plain white to a brilliant, beautiful piece of art or an honorable attempt to do so. Either way, the process is gorgeous!
And, finally, a tie, I guess between yellow and green because those are my husband and son's favorite colors. Why do I find inspiration in that? Because I find inspiration in them and these colors make the think of them. They also make me want to be better and do the best I can, which, for me, includes using my creativity.
So there we go! 5 colors (plus a bonus color) that inspire me and why! Do you have a color that inspires you? What is it? What is it about that color that inspires you? Let us know in the comments!
